What is Somatic Coaching?

Somatic coaching is a type of personal development technique that focuses on the connection between the mind and the body. It helps people become more aware of their physical sensations and how these relate to their thoughts and emotions. The idea is that by paying attention to your body's signals, you can better manage stress, improve your well-being, and achieve personal goals. This approach can include various practices like breathing exercises, movement, verbal and physical experiments and mindfulness to promote overall balance and healing.

For example:
Somatic coaching might involve guiding a person to focus on their bodily sensations and movements while discussing a stressful situation, helping them notice that their shoulders tense up and teaching them to consciously relax their shoulders to manage stress better.
Or, it could be good to think of a special memory or topic that makes you feel love, joy, confidence, and peace. Connect to how that feels in your body, so you can enjoy it, savour it and anchor more of that feeling, reminding your body of this natural way of being.

Somatic Coaching helps people deal with problems related to how their body reacts to stress, emotions, and life situations.


It's useful for those who struggle with physical tension, feeling disconnected from their bodies, or finding it hard to manage their reactions.
